To make AC configuration programs work, use method below, but if you have FSX on the same machine, it will break it - Be warned!!Ħ. My NGX works well in P3D (if slower so far than FSX bizarrely).īe aware - using this method you cannot use the livery or performance manager!! (or equivalent for your plane)Īny setup managers will fail to edit the aircraft or panel.cfg for your P3D AC but will edit it for FSX) When they were installed they look for FSX not P3D. I have had only one addon throw an error now, and that was a scenery. When done, save your dll.xml file and run P3D. Go to %userprofile%\appdata\roaming\microsoft\fsx\ and open your dll.xml file. Copy the dll files from fsx\modules folder to modules folder in P3Dģ. Copy the relevant folders (again, there will be AC specific files in gauges, effects and sounds (make backups of P3D folders)Ģ. This should work for any program that loads dll files.ġ.
I will use the PMDG NGX as an example although, remember again, that PMDG are not officially porting this plane to P3D (yet) so you cannot get support on it from them if it doesn't work. Ok, and please remember: I am not a developer Your mileage may vary from mine. Then you will probably be into editing xml files (don't worry it's easy )Īre you still running FSX on the same machine? If so, I will tell you how to install your more complex AC without breaking FSX. You are really better off copying non-default addons that have their own gauges and sound/fx etc, as you can usually tell what you need to copy to make it/them work. You will break P3D if you just copy everything over. You will also need to do the same with the sound and effects folders, but I would be careful if I were you. P3D may have used edited versions of the same gauges for their default AC. If you get asked to overwrite anything, say no for now. Make a backup of your P3D gauges folder and then just copy and paste all gauges from the FSX gauges folder to the P3d gauges folder.
Make sure you have the correct gauges for each default FSX AC by doing the following: McGuire, all you need to do is copy the folders in Microsoft Flight Simulator\simobjects\airplanes that you want to the same location in P3D.
